Salondancers

Salondancers is an ongoing filmproject that can be situated in the field of visual anthropology.

Until now, four editions of this project have been realised. Each project is a collection of short films of ordinary people dancing in specific communities in Europe. They are invited to dance on his favourite music in their favourite place.

The main goal of this project is to stimulate social cohesion. These portraits show a lot about the culture and community the dancing people belong to. All films are projected in public spaces of the communities concerned. This is how inhabitants of a neighbourhood or city are brought together.

Salondancers was founded by Lotte Knaepen and realized by Lost Collective (Katrijn Geeraert, Hélène Bernard, Anna Zolnierowicz, Bruno Lourenço, Lisa Matthys).
